[moonv6] NAv6TF Project Document and Open Group work announcement

From: Bound, Jim (jim.bound@hp.com)
Date: 05/30/05

moonv6 post from "Bound, Jim" <jim.bound@hp.com> Members,

See attached document for the focused projects at this point for 2005 and corresponding NAv6TF Mission Statement.

Yurie - I just added one sentence that your results should include applicable evaluation of transition mechanism, which was implied. This way we tie mechanisms to use cases. Thanks.

John B. - I added your ISP and Market analysis work as focused project. I would like you to keep doing this and update and for this to become part of the input to our overall NAv6TF projects and processes. Thanks.

Announcement: You will see a project to work with the Open Group and IPv6 Forum to develop an Open Group Product Standardization Working Group within the Open Group. Latif Ladid and I are working with Jay Spaulding from the Open Group to begin this working group and there will be an MOU between the IPv6 Forum and Open Group out very soon and follow on Press Release. More context is provided in the project plan attached. Also as all know after San Jose we will begin to predominantly support joint conferences with other consortia's and small seminars working with our conference provider IGI. For 2006 we will be doing a joint event with the Open Group. Dates and Logistics are not defined yet. Also Jay is a member here of the NAv6TF as is David Lounsberry, who is one of the Senior Execs at the Open Group. This is a wonderful and welcomed partnership for the IPv6 Forum and NAv6TF.

Thank You for all your support, and please send mail to our Project Leaders to participate, remember one of my mottos is: "Leadership is an action, not a thought or discussion, or just more meetings".

/jim
