Subject: [nav6tf] Updated NAv6TF Steering Committee
Folks,
Note - Our primary mission now is to work on "how to deploy IPv6" not to "sell IPv6". I hope this is clear to all at this point, and it has consensus in this forum. Also we are working on new web interfaces and fixes as I type this mail, we know the entire interface has significant errors and out of date. You will be pleased with the update.
Below is updated Steering Committee Members for the NAv6TF. I will be talking with a few other individuals into January 2006. We thank those that were on the Committee prior to this mail for their service. You will note we have multiple Vice Chairs and Technology Directors, this is by design and supports the hands on work we do as a technology body. Note also I am not against NAv6TF participating in conferences as SMEs, I just am not going to be the driver as Chair of NAv6TF sponsoring or organizing conferences. We are not in the marketing business, but clearly we do have to keep some marketing presence. I will look to the Vice Chairs, Technology Directors, and Advisory Councils to help me keep that balance. CAv6TF www.cav6tf.org is the only driver that has offered to drive a conference on the U.S. west coast and date is TBD. We also will be participating in conferences for the Open Group www.opengroup.org and the IEC Global Comm www.iec.org events. Also Yves Poppe is now working with a group of 3G/IMS conference organizers for next event in Asia, as NAv6TF SME and now on the Steering Committee. We also will do ad hoc seminars across the North America as required to assist deployment knowledge, especially for new industry and government IPv6 deployment initiatives where NAv6TF can help.
Please support this Steering Committee in their roles as all volunteers.
