Members,
At the NAv6TF Seminar Nov 16 and 17 in Arlington it was suggested in the hallways by Government, Private Industry, and NAv6TF personnel NAv6TF should become a facilitator to build a transition matrix that would include the following:
List of Transition Mechanisms and capabilities.
List of Applications available for IPv6, and what applications are missing.
List of Test Beds world wide to test upon.
List of Technologies and status of being deployed for IPv6.
List of Products on the market that support IPv6 and what parts, supporting vendor aggregates supplied so detailed proprietary information will not be requested.
List of Products on the market that support IPv6 Security Infosphere.
List of Ipv6 Forum Logo receipients who have passed the tests.
List of supporting documentation for some of the cells in the matrix.
Other items to-be-determined.
In addition to a strong consenus at our meeting in Arlington by the attendees, who were polled, and the responses from NAv6TF members here we will proceed with this effort as an NAv6TF task. Thank You for all your responses.
NAv6TF is in process of revamping our entire web page and this will at some point put on our web page too.
I will disclose the Team that will drive this effort in the New Year. We will also have industry and government participation as input to this matrix.
Stay Tuned we will need help from every member here to develop the NAv6TF IPv6 Deployment Matrix.
This will be our key deliverable to the private and public sectors in North America and I would think useful to the other IPv6 Forum Regions world wide.
Regards,
/jim
